PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the quality of a backside corner part of a book after bookbinding. SOLUTION: This casing-in bookbinding equipment makes the book by applying an adhesive to a bundle of sheets and sticking a cover Pc on the bundle of sheets. Firstly, the thickness Lw of the bundle of sheets is measured. Subsequently, two streaks are made on the cover Pc at an interval based on the measured thickness Lw. The back surface of the bundle of sheets is bonded between the two streaks on the paper Pc. The cover Pc of the booklet, which is composed of the cover Pc and the bundle of sheets, bonded to each other, is folded back along the two streaks. Thus, the two streaks are pre-made in proper positions on the cover Pc, so that linear fold lines are formed at both the backside corners of the book, respectively. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
