PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of variation gloss generated by bidirectional recording. SOLUTION: When recording is performed on a glossy paper, more specifically, a recording is scanned in which the amount of use of ink causing the generation of the variation gloss is large, the bidirectional recording is switched to the unidirectional printing.
