<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to monitor, with a terminal, the states of all print jobs, which a printer having no spool function receives and stores, even when the printer is in use. <P>SOLUTION: A printing server 4 accepts a print job transmitted from a terminal 2 via a network 1 and extracts job management information from the print job. Then, the server 4 accumulates and stores the extracted job management information, together with status information indicating the state of the print job so that these kinds of information can be browsed with the terminal 2. After that, the server 4 updates the stored status information on the print job in synchronization with the printing state of the print job in a printer 3.
