<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long tip member of not less than 2 meters in length made of a cemented carbide for use in a coating tool, which has neither strength degradation nor joint defect to be generated at a joined part by a conventional method such as pressure bonding, adhesive joining, welding or brazing, and also has no deformation such as deflection, and to provide a coating tool for a coating device equipped with the tip member. <P>SOLUTION: The tip member for a coating tool is made by diffusion-bonding two or more cemented carbide sintered body members, on which one or more sintering treatments (including HIP) are carried out. In order to obtain the long tip member made of the cemented carbide for the coating tool, two or more cemented carbide sintered body members are unified by diffusion bonding. Therefore, the long tip member made of the cemented carbide for use in the coating tool has neither strength degradation nor joint defect to be generated at the joined part and also has no deformation such as deflection in comparison with a tip member made of two or more cemented carbide sintered body members unified by pressure bonding, adhesive bonding, welding and brazing.
