<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for mounting a snap ring, which structure can achieve a sufficient engagement width between the snap ring and a groove, and further to provide a structure for supporting a friction engagement apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The structure for mounting the snap ring comprises a case body 12, a back plate 21, and a snap ring 31. The case body 12 includes the inner peripheral surface 12c elongating about a required axis. The case body 12 has an annularly elongated groove 41 formed so as to be recessed from the inner peripheral surface 12c. The back plate 21 is attached to the case body 12. The snap ring 31 is arranged in the groove 41, and restricts the axial movement of the back plate 21. The snap ring 31 includes a base portion 36 and a locking portion 37. The base portion 36 is fitted into the groove 41 and is brought into contact with the back plate 21. The locking portion 37 elongates from the base portion 36 in the axial direction opposite to the back plate 21 in the required axis, and is positioned on the inner peripheral surface 12c. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
