<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feed cassette the size and cost of which are prevented from getting large and which can accurately display the residual amount of paper by a simple mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: This paper feed cassette 1 comprises a lift plate 3 on which paper P is placed, a drive device 10 for displacing the lift plate 3 to a paper feed position by pushing up the downstream side end thereof, and a residual paper amount display mechanism 20 for displaying the residual amount of paper P placed on the lift plate 3 when the drive device 10 is operated. The residual paper amount display mechanism 20 comprises a display mechanism input gear 21 connected to a drive shaft 11 rotated for raising the lift plate 3 and an intermediate gear 22, and an indication piece 23 engaged with the intermediate gear 22 and indicating the residual amount of paper when the intermediate gear 22 is rotated. This dispenses with the installation of the indication piece at the downstream side end of the lift plate 3 in the paper feed direction in a bound state to the lift plate 3, and also dispenses with the installation of a display part at a position higher than the lift plate 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
