PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition which is excellent in basic performances such as heat resistance, is excellent in optical characteristics such as transparency, and is useful for optical uses, optical device uses, display device uses, mechanical part materials, electric/electronic part materials, and the like, to provide an optical member, and to provide a method for controlling the optical material. SOLUTION: The resin composition comprising an organic resin component and an organosiloxane compound is characterized in that the organic resin component contains an epoxy group-containing compound, and the organosiloxane compound is represented by an average composition formula: R<SP>1</SP>aR<SP>2</SP>bYcSiOd. Therein, R<SP>1</SP>is a saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon group. R<SP>2</SP>is an aryl group or an aralkyl group. Y is RO group, OH, a halogen atom or H. R is an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group. a, b, c and d satisfy 0≤a<3, 0≤b<3, 0≤c<3, 0<a+b+c<3, 0<a+b<3, and a+b+c+2d=4. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
