PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoelectric conversion material capable of stably exhibiting thermoelectric conversion characteristics such as an output factor even in an atmospheric high-temperature environment. SOLUTION: The thermoelectric conversion material is made of a compound metal oxide including M<SP>1</SP>, M<SP>2A</SP>and M<SP>2B</SP>as metal elements with a mol ratio of 2:1:1 as M<SP>1</SP>:M<SP>2A</SP>:M<SP>2B</SP>[where M<SP>1</SP>refers to an element which contains, as essential elements, one or more kinds of elements (M<SP>1A</SP>) selected from a group consisting lo La, Y and lanthanoid and further may contain one or more kinds of elements (M<SP>1B</SP>) selected from alkaline earth metals; M<SP>2A</SP>refers to one or more kinds of elements selected from a group consisting of metal elements whose atomic valence can be bivalent; M<SP>2B</SP>refers to one or more kinds of elements selected from a group consisting of metal elements whose atomic valence can be quadrivalent; and M<SP>1</SP>, M<SP>2A</SP>and M<SP>2B</SP>are different elements], and the crystalline structure of the compound is a perovskite crystalline structure.
