PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To show stable actions and operation functions with high electromagnetic thrust force secured in an average over its whole operation processes, and without adding excessive impact load to a handle at a switching terminal position, when a switching operation is carried out to move a handle of a circuit breaker to ON, OFF, and RESET positions. SOLUTION: In the remote operation device 2 coupling a handle 1a of the circuit breaker 1 to a movable unit of an electromagnetic linear actuator, and enabling the handle to make switching operations at ON, OFF, and RESET positions by driving the actuator with a remote operation instruction, the electromagnetic linear actuator is structured of a permanent magnet type linear pulse motor consisting of a field part 15 with a plurality of permanent magnets arrayed and a coil part 18 made opposed to the field part by winding operation coils 17a, 17b, 17c around each leg of a three-leg magnetic yoke 16. Then, by conductively controlling and sequentially changing over excitation patterns of the operation coils on the way of the operation processes, the handle of the circuit breaker is made driven in steps toward a switching terminal position by making the movable unit go forward by step-by-step motion.
