PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printer which can make an ink droplet land in a targeted position even if a rotary encoder attached to the roller of a conveyance belt is eccentric. SOLUTION: A rotary encoder disk and two rotary encoder sensors are attached to the indirectly-driven roller of the conveyance belt. An actual rotation angleθ<SB>1(n)</SB>of the rotary encoder disk is computed from encoder pulse intervals t<SB>1(n)</SB>, t<SB>2(n)</SB>detected by the two rotary encoder sensors. An ink droplet discharge timing correction profile P<SB>(n)</SB>for specifying a predetermined ink droplet discharge timing is computed from the rotation angleθ<SB>1(n)</SB>and stored. An ink droplet discharge timing signal is output from the stored ink droplet discharge timing correction profile P<SB>(n)</SB>and the encoder pulse from the one rotary encoder sensor.
