It is intended to provide a method capable of producing a compound having an excellent HSD1 inhibitory action and a compound useful as a synthetic intermediate efficiently and at low cost, which is excellent in degree of achievement of asymmetric synthesis (i.e., selectivity), yield, safety and industrial workability.
