This invention provides a methyl methacrylate resin light guide for use in a surface light source device. The methyl methacrylate resin light guide can reduce the occurrence of dark lines and can improve the image plane quality of a surface light source device. The light guide is characterized by comprising 100 parts by mass of a methyl methacrylate resin and not less than 0.01 part by mass and not more than 0.5 part by mass of fine particles dispersed in the methyl methacrylate resin, the fine particles having an absolute value of a difference in refractive index from the methyl methacrylate resin of not less than 0.001 and not more than 0.02 and having an average particle diameter of not less than 1 mum and not more than 10 mum. |
