摘要 An LCD device and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce power consumption by lowering the voltage amplitude value of signals for turning on/off a switch. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device displays images by applying signal voltages of image signals to liquid crystal elements. A first voltage(VS1) is applied to the liquid crystal elements during a first sub-frame(taua) of a first frame period. A second voltage(VS2) for performing the black color display of the liquid crystal elements is applied to the liquid crystal elements during a second sub-frame(taub) of the first frame period. The level of the first voltage is determined based on the difference between the second and the signal voltages and the length of the first sub-frame period.
