A method for providing a voice call service using a data communication network and an apparatus therefor are provided to connect a Wibro(Wireless Broadband) system to an IMS(Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem) network, thereby providing a VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) service to a subscriber using the Wibro system. A calling subscriber terminal transmits a call request message to a called subscriber terminal(S200). The called subscriber terminal transmits QOS(Quality Of Service) information about a session based on QOS information included into the received call request message to the calling subscriber terminal(S210). Each subscriber terminal performs a network resource allocating process separately if a call request process is performed(S240,S245). The calling subscriber terminal transmits a network resource setting completion message to the called subscriber terminal(S250). The called subscriber terminal transmits a ring message to the calling subscriber terminal(S270). The each subscriber terminal performs a radio resource allocating process for exchanging voice traffic separately(S300,S305). The calling subscriber terminal transmits an ACK(Acknowledgement) message to the called subscriber terminal if the session is set up normally(S310).
