A method for preparing a polymer is provided to obtain a polymer in the form of solid precipitated particles having an adequate particle size, thereby simplifying the overall process and improving the cost efficiency. A method for preparing a polymer comprises the steps of: mixing (a) a non-solvent, (b) a monomer and (c) a catalyst; and carrying out polymerization of the monomer while precipitating the polymer polymerized from the monomer in a solid state. The non-solvent is added to the monomer in a ratio of 10-90 wt%. The non-solvent is a C5-C20 hydrocarbon compound having any one structure selected from a linear structure, branched structure and cyclic structure. Particular examples of the non-solvent include n-hexane, cyclohexane and heptane.
