A strap attachment device 5 typically for a strap to be attached to a musical instrument comprises a collar 6 hingedly attached to an arm 12 via a pivot pin 13, the portion of the instrument to which the strap is to be attached is received and clamped between the arm 12 and the collar 6 wherein the clamping device 19,20 releasably connects the arm and collar together and the protrusion 10 engages in the recess 15.
