Pulse type power charging terminal and method are provided to reduce heat generation when talking over a terminal during charging of a battery of the terminal. A pulse type power charging terminal(100) includes a battery(120), a charge unit, a power level detection unit(160), and a control unit(140). The battery supplies operation power. The charge unit charges the battery. The power level detection unit detects a level of the operation power. The control unit controls current charged in the battery to be charged in a pulse type when the level of the operation power corresponds to a high power state. The pulse type power charging terminal further includes a communication unit(150) for transceiving a busy signal. In the high power state, the communication unit trasnceives the busy signal during charging of the battery through the charge unit.
