A method and a system for providing the ring-back tone based on a call history are provided to offer the abnormal replacement sound to a sender when generating a call request continuously according to call failure. When a call request toward a call receiving terminal of a subscriber is received from a transmitter terminal, a process for inquiring the call history from the sender terminal toward the receiver terminal is performed. Thereafter, a process for determining a ring back tone replacement sound source toward the sender terminal on the basis of the call history is performed(S11). Thereafter, the determined ring back tone replacement sound source is provided to the sender terminal(S12). When the call history is just before the failure of a call, another replacement sound source different from the previous call request is provided to the sender terminal. At least two replacement sound sources are set to the receiver terminal and another replacement sound source is selected among at least two replacement sound sources.
