<p>The device has a stack support member configured to abuttingly support on it a stack of sheet material (8) in a generally flat condition. A conveyor selectively shifts the stack of sheet material between the upper roller and the lower roller. The upper roller and the lower roller (2, 3) are arranged in a staggered relationship (18) so that an imaginary plane extends between the first and second axes (10, 16) of rotation of the upper roller and the lower roller is located at an angle with respect to both the horizontal and the vertical.
