Antenna for a backscatter RFID transponder

The antenna (20) comprises an integrated receiving circuit having a capacitive input impedance for receiving a radio signal located spectrally within an operating frequency range. The antenna comprises two antenna branches (21,22), extending outward spirally from a central region (23), in which the antenna branches are connected with the integrated receiving circuit. A circular conductive strip (51) is provided for connecting antenna branches conductive with each other and extended completely around the central region. An independent claim is also included for a backscatter-based radio frequency identification transponder.
