A system and a method for providing a video call service with a virtual world animation character are provided to allow an MMORPG(Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) user to be more immersed in an MMORPG and smoothly perform communication between an MMORPG user animation character of a virtual world and a real world in real time. When a video call setup is requested between a mobile terminal(100-1) and an MMORPG user, an MSC(Mobile Switching Center)(230) establishes a video call session between an agent server(300) providing a video call path with an MMORPG server(400) and the mobile terminal. The agent server establishes the video call session with the MSC, and relays video call data between the mobile terminal and a game client(100-2). The MMORPG server provides an online game service and performs a call origination and termination process, and when a video call session is established among the mobile terminal, the MSC and the agent server, the MMORPG server controls establishing of TCP/IP connection between the game client and the agent server. The game client performs a video call with the mobile terminal, outputs video, voice and chatting message received from the mobile terminal, and transmits game animation character information of the corresponding MMORPG user to the mobile terminal so as to be displayed.
