<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable communication terminal which detects not the relative speed to a base station but the actual moving speed, without losing the portability and without imposing a burden on a radio communication system. <P>SOLUTION: Speed detectors 12, 13 detect the relative speeds to associated base stations, utilizing the Doppler effect of the frequencies of radio waves received from at least two radio stations. A position detector 14 acquires position information of each radio station from each radio station, and obtains the position of a portable communication terminal from the position information of the individual radio stations and the receiving intensities of radio waves therefrom.
