A liquid crystal display apparatus is provided to improve optical efficiency and a drive response characteristic of a display image made in red, green and blue. A liquid crystal display apparatus includes a back light and a voltage with the same polarity and a reverse polarity. A 1 frame period is divided by a data recording interval and an AC driving interval. The AC driving interval is after the data recording interval. Red, green and blue are displayed sequentially by the same polarity voltage during the data recoding interval as synchronizing with lighting periods of red, green and blue backlights. And then the same polarity voltage corresponding to the back light of red, green and blue is applied sequentially to generate red, green and blue displaying images. The reverse polarity corresponding to red, green, and blue respectively is applied during AC driving period. |
