<p>The spoke (6) has a tapered median body (7) including a hollow shaft (15) that is made of composite material and extended at ends by coupling ends (8, 9), where each coupling end i.e. end fitting's terminal part, is embedded in the shaft. End fittings (16, 17) are made of light metal such as aluminum alloy and magnesium alloy, where density of the metal is lower than 3. The shaft is made of unidirectional fibers embedded in a resin matrix. A cut ply is wound on the end fittings, where the ply is made of composite material, whose resin is not completely polymerized. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a composite spoke.</p> |
