A system and a method for providing an e-coupon service using a smart card are provided to perfectly prevent possibility using an e-coupon to services or goods excluding a designed service, and check various information of the services used by the e-coupon in real-time. A user smart card(109) is issued to an e-coupon user(113), authenticates the e-coupon user, and stores e-coupons. An SP(Service Provider) smart card(111) is issued to an SP(117), authenticates the SP, and stores the e-coupons. A portable service terminal(107) authenticates the user and the SP by recognizing the user or SP smart card. An e-coupon server(103) issues the e-coupon to an ID of the authenticated user by a request of the user wanting the e-coupon. The portable service terminal includes an e-coupon distributor distributing the e-coupons issued from the e-coupon server to the user smart cards when the user smart card is recognized, and an e-coupon transferor storing the e-coupon stored in the user smart card to the SP smart card according to a service time of the SP by recognizing the user and SP smart card at the same time or sequentially.
