<p>Producing aromatic or heteroaromatic nitriles (I) comprises reacting a (hetero)aryl halide or sulfonate (II) with potassium ferro- or ferricyanide in the presence of a palladium compound and a phosphine (III), optionally in a solvent and optionally with addition of a base. Producing aromatic or heteroaromatic nitriles of formula Ar-CN (I) comprises reacting a (hetero)aryl halide or sulfonate of formula Ar-X (II) with potassium ferro- or ferricyanide in the presence of a palladium compound and a phosphine of formula PR 1>R 2>R 3> (III) or PR 1>R 2>-A-PR 3>R 4> (IV) optionally in a solvent and optionally with addition of a base. Ar : optionally substituted aryl or heteroaryl; X : Cl, Br, I, triflate, nonaflate, mesylate or tosylate; R 1>alkyl, and R 2>-R 4>alkyl, aryl or heteroaryl.</p> |
