A remote controller of a data processor and a control method thereof are provided to add a generalized number and character input function to a remote controller's function, thereby increasing the user's convenience. Information corresponding to the user's manipulation is inputted to a user input member(110). A storing member(140) has a storing area. A remote controller signal processing member(120) processes the remote controller's signals inputted from the user input member. A control member(100) stores the information inputted by the user input member in the storing member, displays the inputted information on a display member(130) and controls selectively one of remote controller's signals inputted from the user input member. The user input member includes plural number keys, character keys, and function keys for performing plural functions. The control member controls a transmission member so that any one among the remote control's signals processed by the remote controller signal processing member or information stored in the storing member is transmitted to the transmission member. |
