A system and a method for providing a lettering service in forwarding a call are provided to solve a problem that if the mobile terminal of a reception side has not been set for call forwarding, a lettering service is not provided to the terminal which is the target of call forwarding when a voice call is attempted to a particular mobile terminal from an origination terminal. When an origination terminal(110) originates a call to the first destination terminal(S210), an originating MSC(Mobile Switching Center)(120) transmits a destination location information request message to the first destination terminal HLR(Home Location Register)(130)(S215). The first destination terminal HLR transmits a destination location information response message to the originating MSC(S220). The originating MSC transmits a destination location information request message to the second destination terminal HLR(140)(S225). The second destination terminal HLR transmits a lettering information request message to a lettering information providing server(150)(S230). The lettering information providing server transmits a lettering information response message to the second destination terminal HLR(S235). The second destination terminal HLR includes lettering information in a routing information request message and transmits it to a terminating MSC(160)(S240). The terminating MSC extracts the lettering information and transmits a routing information response message to the second destination terminal HLR(S245). The second destination terminal HLR transmits a destination location information response message(S250). A procedure of ISUP(ISDN User Part) setup is performed between the originating MSC and the terminating MSC(S255). When a voice call is set up from the origination terminal to the second destination terminal, the terminating MSC transmits the lettering information to the second destination terminal so as to be displayed(S260).
