An opening and closing apparatus for a disk drive is provided to fix torsion springs at a tray and at a door and to open the door according to the operation state of the disk drive in order to lower temperature in the disk drive. An opening and closing apparatus for a disk drive(100) comprises a cabinet(110), a tray(130), a door(150), and an opening and closing unit. The tray is slid in and out of the cabinet. The door, rotated at the front of the tray, shields a front opening of the cabinet. The opening and closing unit rotates the door according to the operation state of the disk drive. Elastic members are installed at the tray and rotary shafts of the door for recovery force. The elastic members are torsion springs(160) whose one side is fixed to the tray and the other side is fixed to the door.
