A toner distribution system and a control method therefor are provided to perform a toner density control and distribute a toner with a suitable quantity to maintain the toner density of a developer suitably. An auger(21) is rotatably formed to distribute a toner the inside of a toner cartridge(20). A distribution motor(50) rotates the auger and distributes the toner to a developer housing(16). A toner density sensor(60) measures the toner density of a developer in the developer housing. A logic circuit counts a pixel count and a transition count per page of a printing image. A printer controller(30) controls the operation of the distribution motor to determine a toner distribution quantity on the basis of the first distribution time corresponding to a pixel count adjusted by a rate of the transition count and the pixel count counted by the logic circuit, the second distribution time corresponding to difference between the toner density measured through the toner density sensor and target toner density, and a distribution rate corresponding to length information of a print work and complement the toner in the developer housing.
