A handheld direction finding device is disclosed comprising a global positioning system (GPS) receiver and a display that indicates distance and direction such that a user can locate a stored location or point of origin. In a further embodiment a handheld direction finding device is disclosed comprising an electronic compass, a digital memory storage and a time keeping means. The device may be arranged to identify magnetic north and use a correction table depending on its location to determine the direction to Mecca. The device may be provided in the form of a prayer mat. |
