The cable consists of braids arranged in at least one braid layer, whereby a braid consists of twisted yarns and a yarn of synthetic fibers, whereby at least one braid of at least one braid layer has indicator fibers and/or at least one indicator yarn for monitoring the cable's lifetime. The indicator yarn consists of indicator fibers and synthetic fibers and the indicator yarn fibers are weaker than the synthetic fibers of the braid. An independent claim is also included for a method of monitoring a fiber cable lifetime. |
