A mobile communication terminal and an operation control method thereof are provided to enable a schedule management screen to be automatically displayed when the terminal is connected to a cradle, and to allow an idle screen to be displayed when the terminal is separated from the cradle, thus a user can set the terminal on the cradle. A controller decides whether a terminal is connected to a cradle(S300). If so, the controller drives a schedule management program stored in a memory unit(S305). The schedule management program is displayed on an input/output unit(S310). The connected terminal is separated from the cradle, a separation sensing signal is delivered to the controller, and then the terminal completes the driving action of the schedule management program(S315,S320). An idle screen is displayed on the input/output unit(S330).
