<p>Steel for automobile exhaust gas passage components is provided to obtain excellent toughness of a weld formed during pipe-making, and to secure a wide range of freedom degree in selecting proper pipe-making conditions particularly when performing high-frequency welding pipe-making in a Cu-containing ferritic stainless steel excellent in high temperature oxidation resistance and high temperature strength. Ferritic stainless steel for automobile exhaust gas passage components comprises 0.03 mass% or less of C, 1 mass% or less of Si, 1.5 mass% or less of Mn, 0.6 mass% or less of Ni, 10 to 20 mass% of Cr, 0.5 mass% or less of Nb, 0.05 to 0.3 mass% of Ti, more than 0.03 to 0.12 mass% of Al, more than 1 to 2 mass% of Cu, 0.2 mass% or less of V, 0.03 mass% or less of N, 0.0005 to 0.02 mass% of B, 0.01 mass% or less of O, and the balance of Fe and unavoidable impurities, and satisfies the following mathematical expressions 1 and 2: Nb>=8(C+N) and 0.02<=Al-(54/48)O<=0.1. The ferritic stainless steel further comprises one or more of Mo, W, Zr and Co in a total amount range of 4 mass% or less.</p> |
