An information display method of an electronic device and the electronic device thereof are provided to display information related to data located in an internal area of a frame, once the internal area of the frame is touched, thereby offering a more convenient user interface environment. A touch screen has a display area operating as a touch input area. A controller(50) displays data information on the display area, displays a frame which limits a particular area while at least a portion thereof is overlapped with the data information, and carries out a function related to the data information located in an internal area of the frame if the internal area of the frame is touched. The data information includes a map, and the function includes a function of displaying information on a detailed position.
