Support for devices and signs for spanning roads

The road sign (10) is constructed as a portal (30) spanning a carriageway (20) of e.g. a dual-carriageway road. The portal stands on two vertical legs (32). An access ladder (38) is fastened to one of the legs and the portal incorporates housings (40) with personnel walkways (35) on two levels. The front side facing the normal traffic flow has permanent signboards (50) mounted on vertical pipes fastened to the portal frame. Vertical lamellae (44) on the rear side of the sign may be rotated to show NO ENTRY signs or arrows for reverse working of traffic during road works.
