The method involves sterilizing a valve (15) removed from the tank in a first sterilization station (21), fitting the valve to an outlet connector and sterilizing the valve and the outlet connector on the connected state forming the connection region in a second sterilization station. An independent claim is also included for a system for sterilizing the connection region of a bag-in-tank system.
