Method for drying tobacco products in a drying device (10) comprises impinging subsequent heating zones (Z1, Z2, Z3) with a heat medium independently of each other. An independent claim is also included for a drying device for drying tobacco products. Preferred Features: The heat medium is fed to each zone via a feed line. The heat medium and/or the cooling medium is removed from each zone via a removal line. The tobacco products are dried in a drying drum. The zones are formed by heating modules.
