METHOD FOR ENCRYPTING DATAS AND APPATUS THEREFOR

A method and an apparatus for encrypting data are provided to encrypt data at high speed by performing XOR operations on N encoded counter values and N divided data blocks. A data encryption apparatus includes a data divider(310), a random number generator(320), a counter generator(330), an encryption unit(340), and a calculator(350). The data divider divides packet-based data into N data blocks. The random number generator generates a random number which is used for generating an encryption key for encrypting the data blocks. The encryption unit encrypts a counter value by using the encryption key which is generated in the encryption key generator. The encryption key generator generates the encryption key based on an exchange key, duplication control information of data, and the random number.
