摘要 A system and a method for switching context in a system having a reconfigurable processor are provided to minimize time consumed during a multitasking while not increasing system production cost. A system for switching context includes a CPU(100), a reconfiguration information loading unit(110), a memory(120), the first reconfiguration information storage unit(130), the second reconfiguration information storage unit(140), a reconfiguration information selector(150) and a reconfigurable processor(160). The CPU controls plural tasks performed in the system, and in order to do it, commands the reconfiguration information loading unit to load necessary reconfiguration information sequentially. The reconfiguration information loading unit loads the reconfiguration information from the memory in response to the command from the CPU. The memory stores the reconfiguration information and plural programs needed for driving the system. The reconfiguration information loading unit outputs the reconfiguration information from the memory to the first reconfiguration information storage unit and the second reconfiguration information storage unit. The reconfiguration information selector selects reconfiguration information needed for the next task and selects which reconfiguration information stored at between the first reconfiguration information storage unit and the second reconfiguration information storage unit is used in driving the reconfigurable processor. The reconfigurable processor is reconfigured according to the selected reconfiguration information and executes a reconfigured program.
