FAULT DETECTING SYSTEM OF HIGH VOLTAGE CONNECTOR IN RAIL CARS AND THE METHOD

A system and a method for detecting a fault of a high voltage connector in a rail car are provided to allow a worker to verify an internal fault of the high voltage connector of the rail car in real time without disassembling the high voltage connector by himself. A system for detecting a fault of a high voltage connector(50) in a rail car includes electric charge sensing members(60,61), a current sensing member(62), and a data acquisition member(66). The high voltage connector has power cables connected to both ends thereof. The electric charge sensing members measure a difference in electric charge applied to the both ends of the high voltage connector. The current sensing member measures a current flowing through the high voltage connector. The data acquisition member collects information on the difference in the electric charge and the current measured through the electric charge sensing members and the current sensing member to calculate a resistance of the high voltage connector in real time.
