METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SETTING OPTICAL DRIVE WRITE SPEED

A method and a system for setting optical drive write speed are provided to develop general write strategy for the optical medium predetermined by pre-assigned optical medium identification codes to record the optical disk drive at high speed and to improve user satisfaction. An optical medium(14) is used in an optical drive(12). The optical drive comprises a write strategy table(18), a general write strategy table, and a write strategy module. The write strategy table has plural optical medium identification codes. The general write strategy table which is associated with one of general write strategies has plural pre-assigned optical medium identification codes. The write strategy module reads an optical medium identification code from the optical medium, and provides the optical drive with the associated write strategy or with the associated general write strategy.
