A wireless headset for a telephone is provided to prevent an erroneous operation of the wireless headset by changing communication conditions according to a position of a knob. A voice input unit(210) transmits a voice of a user to a counterpart. A mode selector(280) is implemented as a knob on a body case of a wireless headset and enables a user to select a call mode. A detector(270) detects a position of the mode selector and provides a detected signal. A call key unit(240) includes a call key and provides a call signal according to a manipulation of the call key of the user. A controller(250) controls call conditions of the wireless headset and an operation state of the voice input unit according to the detected signal from the detector and the call signal from the call key unit.
