A film capacitor and a metalized plastic film are provided to improve an electrical characteristic and safety of the capacitor by reducing a size of a divided electrode and a width of a fuse unit to smooth operation of the fuse unit during operation of the capacitor. A metalized plastic film(111) for a film capacitor includes a margin unit(106), divided electrodes(105,105a), and fuse units(104,104a). The margin unit is a region where electrode metal(102) is not deposited. Each of the divided electrodes has a long rectangular shape and is formed from the margin unit to other side of a width direction of the film up to 1/4 to 4/5 of a width of the film. Each of the fuse units is formed between the divided electrode at an end of the margin unit and a region in contact with the electrode metal. The fuse units are patterned to be continuously formed at regular intervals along a length of the film.
