METHOD FOR DETECTION OF PRECURSORS OF A TSUNAMI WAVE

FIELD: seismology. ^ SUBSTANCE: two modular magnetometers are installed in a direct line with the expected wave arrival at a certain distance relative to each other. They are used to pick up signals including both a natural variation of the Earth magnetic field and an additional block signal induced by a tsunami wave. A gradient of variation of the tsunami wave's magnetic field is calculated upon a difference between the values of signals detected by each of the magnetometers. The tsunami arrival is forecasted thereby. ^ EFFECT: detection of the anticipated useful magnetic signal, coming from a tsunami wave, against the background of various variations.
