METHOD FOR CONTROLLING HANDOVER OF THE MOBILE OF CELL-DWELLING-TIME ESTIMATION

A method for controlling handover of a mobile terminal by estimating a cell dwelling time is provided to minimize an interruption probability of a handover call by preferentially allocating resources to a call having the highest handover interruption probability when an idle channel is generated in an overloaded cell. When handover is requested from a target cell, a field strength with respect to a beacon signal of an administering cell is measured and waits according to a handover standby request of the target cell(S401-S406). When cell dwelling time information is requested by the target cell, a cell dwelling time of the administering cell is estimated by using the field strength with respect to the beacon signal of the administering cell(S407-S411). The estimated cell dwelling time is transmitted to the target cell, and when handover is accepted, handover is performed(S412-S415).
