A pixel array with a broad dynamic range, better color reproduction and resolution, and an image sensor using the pixel array are provided to dispose small pixels and great pixels in the pixel array simultaneously to remove variables caused in an image signal converting circuit to the maximum, thereby widening the dynamic range and the display range of chromaticity. Plural first type PDs(PhotoDiodes)(PD1) are disposed two-dimensionally. Plural second type PDs(PD2) are disposed between the first type PDs. Plural image signal converting circuits are installed between the first type PDs and the second type PDs to convert image signals detected from the first type PDs and the second type PDs into electric signals. The area of the first type PD is smaller than that of the second type PD. |
