MASS PROPAGATING METHOD OF SOFT CORALS USING SELF-CLEAVING INDUCTION

A mass propagating method of soft corals using self-cleaving induction is provided to increase a large amount of individuals by inducing the self-cleaving of the soft corals through adjustment of temperature of water. A mass propagating method of soft corals using self-cleaving induction includes the steps of: selecting subject species of soft corals to be collected; collecting the selected soft corals from the colony; moving the collected soft corals to cultivating water whose temperature is different from that of the seawater of their habitat by 7-10deg.C; inducing self cleaving of the soft corals by using the temperature difference and facilitating the formation process of root; collecting a piece of the self-cleaved soft corals; attaching the cut piece of the soft coral to a substrate; and cultivating the piece of the self-cleaved soft coral.
