#CMT# #/CMT# Use of gamma-aminobutyric acid (I) or its salts or derivative as depigmenting agent or melano modulator, is claimed. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# (I) is useful as depigmenting agent or melano modulator (claimed). #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# (I) clears the dark phenotype to more fair phenotype. (I) is used for the clarification of the skin, preferably in the aesthetic defects related to abnormal, irregular or excessive pigmentation. (I) is less toxic. #CMT#ORGANIC CHEMISTRY : #/CMT# Preferred Components: (I) is salt with organic or mineral acid, preferably hydrochloride of gamma-aminobutyric acid. (I) is used in the form of ester, preferably lower alkyl, as depigmenting agent. (I) is added: to the vegetable extract, which is rich in polyphenol or tannins; to ~a-hydroxylated acid, as depigmenting agent. (I) is present at 0.4-10%, preferably 0.5-5%. (I) is administrated topically, in the form of aqueous or oil composition such as milk, lotions, oil in water emulsion or water in oil emulsion, creams, gels and toilet water. #CMT#EXAMPLE : #/CMT# Typical composition comprised (in g): gamma-aminobutyric acid (2); propylene glycol (5); sweet almond oil (10); silicone oil (0.1); Germaben II (RTM: Preservative) (0.02); Carbopol 936 (RTM: Polyacrylic acid) (0.4); triethanolamine (0.1); and purified water (80). |
