PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a lithium-containing transition metal phosphate having an olivine structure at a low cost without performing any heat-treatment.

SOLUTION: The production method of the lithium-containing transition metal phosphate comprises a synthesis step of synthesizing the lithium-containing transition metal phosphate having an olivine structure without performing any heat-treatment, by mixing a raw material mixture with a means for applying a mechanical energy, provided that the raw material mixture contains a lithium-containing compound, a compound containing a transition metal and a phosphorus-containing compound.
